Choral Festival

Nearly a year in the making, we have recruited singers, hired our orchestra, and are ready for the Huntsville Master Chorale’s 2023 Choral Festival – REFLECTIONS! I invite you and your friends to mark this date in your calendar.
Our concluding concert will be conducted by an internationally known and GRAMMY Award Winner, Dr. Jeffrey Allen Murdock. Among his many roles in the music world, he is the Founder of the Arkansas Center for Black Music and Associate Professor of Music at the University of Arkansas. A skilled gospel musician and conductor, the performance promised to be poignant and moving.
Joining us will be four superb soloists with amazing biographical backgrounds, highlighted here:
- Huntsville-raised soprano Manna K. Jones is known for her dramatic brilliance across opera and classical music as well as musical theater.
- Julie Moore-Foster, mezzo-soprano, born in Manhattan, New York City, currently is the head of the music department and assistant professor in voice and diction at Oakwood University, a position she has held since 1999.
- Tenor Roderick George made his debut as a soloist at New York’s Lincoln Center. His repertoire spans from Bach and Beethoven to contemporary composers.
- Baritone Michael Parham’s “resonant and ear caressing” baritone voice was most recently heard as a featured soloist in Porgy and Bess at the Metropolitan Opera and has debuted roles of note across the US.
Please join us, and bring a few friends, as we bring you REFLECTIONS: from Mozart to Gospel. As ever, there is no charge for our concerts. You will return home with a song in your heart – and that’s a promise!
